This month we celebrate our 3rd birthday at Jamison Flowers and look back
at how far we've come!
Spring is making us very happy at Jamison Flowers! Everyday we are
greeted by vases and vases of beautiful flowers, red and white waratahs,
sweet peas, ranunculus, tulips, gorgeous snap dragons and stock, we
really do have our very own Floraide in store! We've been keeping
ourselves very busy making bouquets and arrangements for our fabulous
customers while trying hard to keep some very exciting secrets.......
October started with some amazing news, I was chosen as an ACT finalist
in the Telstra Young Business Woman of the Year Awards. It all
started with a nomination from Amanda, one of my staff members. I
was surprised, honoured and a little overwhelmed when my name was put
forward. The application was extensive, but it was a fantastic
process and made me evaluate the business and how far it's come. It
gave me a chance to think about my priorities, the direction the shop is
headed and where I want to take it in the future. I was then asked
to attend an interview and from their was named as a finalist. It's
all still a bit hard to believe and while I'm very proud to get this far,
it's also extremely overwhelming and nerve wracking! I'm looking
forward to the Gala Award dinner later this month and celebrating with
family and friends!
We were also excited and honoured to win a prestigious Award of
Excellence in the Sydney Markets 2014 Florist of the Year Awards.
Julie headed up to Sydney for the breakfast ceremony to accept our
plaque, they certainly start their day early at the markets! The
awards are judged by mystery shoppers and recognise the best florists in
NSW and the ACT. Only 20 florists were recognised this year.
Jamison Flowers was the only Canberra florist to receive an award
and we're very proud to have it hanging in the shop!
But we wont let our success distract us from the job at hand, we've got
lots of great weddings to work on this month. We're looking forward
to getting lots of buckets of beautiful roses in the shop, as well as all
the other great spring blooms around at the moment. Make sure you

Pantry this month for their wedding open night on Wednesday 22 October.
We'll be helping them show off their beautiful new marquee and
