December - Christmas has arrived at Jamison Flowers.
The tree is up, the carols are on, it must be Christmas!
We can't believe December is here already! Every year seems to fly
by faster and faster, and 2014 is no exception! The month started
with a trek out to the Gundaroo Christmas tree farm to choose our shop
tree. An emergency elsewhere meant I was left with a saw, and
instructions to pick whichever tree I liked! After a quick stomp
through the paddock, trying to push the possibility of snakes out of my
mind, I picked the tree, cut it down, threw it in the car, dragged it
into the shop and decorated it....all by myself! Needless to say
I'm very attached to it, and it is bringing all of us lots of joy!
Lots of customers look forward to the arrival of the tree and it's
decorations, which are selling fast. Make sure you pop into Jamison
and check out our selection for this year.
December means summer, and summer means the return of some very beautiful
flowers! Peonies are at their peak, we've been using them for lots
of weddings, why wouldn't you! The hydrangea are amazing, we've got
cut flowers and plants, in white, blue and pink. Christmas bush is
back, just in time. It looks fantastic and can be used in so many
ways, it's a must have this time of year! We've got Celosia, (the
flower that looks like a brain), in red, orange and hot pink, it adds
great texture and colour to bouquets and arrangements. Soon we'll
have dahlias again, so that's very exciting! Red dahlias will be
perfect for Christmas!
Hopefully you've had some time to relax and have fun planning the
decorations for your Christmas table. It's not hard to be inspired,
you can spend hours on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram, and there is no
end of clever ideas. Keep an eye on the Jamison Flowers Facebook
and Instagram pages for our Christmas table suggestions. We'll be
making lots of wreaths and table arrangements in the lead up to the big
day. Bring in your ideas and pictures and we can create something
beautiful for you to share with your family and friends. It's best
to get your orders in as early as you can, so we can finalise details
with our suppliers. Unfortunately we've had to shelve plans for the
Christmas flower school we wanted to hold this month. We've got so
many weddings and functions booked for the rest of the year, we just
can't fit it in. We are planning more classes next year so make
sure you keep in touch with us if you're interested.
This will be our last newsletter for a little while. The shop will
close at midday on Christmas Eve and will reopen on Monday 5 January.
I want to take this opportunity to wish all our customers, my staff
and their families a safe and happy Christmas and New Year. It's
been a fantastically successful year for Jamison Flowers and I'm looking
forward to 2015.
I hope Santa finds you all and spoils you rotten!
